Engineering Technician IV or V

Overview

SCCI is seeking a highly motivated and experiencedEngineering Technician IV or Vto join our Battle Management System (BMS) team. The successful Candidate's primary focus for this role will be as a Lead Systems Integration Lab (SIL) Technician. This position is expected to manage the day-to-day operations of the Weapons Systems Integration Lab (WSIL) and Platform System Integration Lab (PSIL), strategically plan/implement new capabilities, and be hands-on for immediate repairs/fabrications. This role will work independently and facilitate the needs between the technical team and existing BMS Facilities.This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:




  • Manage daily operations of the WSIL and PSIL to support technical team; these duties shall include facility and laboratory equipment management, Lab maintenance troubleshooting and maintenance scheduling. This includes an understanding of military radioarchitecture and troubleshooting.
  • Forecast future needs of each lab to ensure new capabilities and improved operations are strategically planned and implemented to minimize schedule impact and maximize effectiveness of tactical operations by the technical teams.
  • Lead a team of technicians to support all SIL readiness and repair operations; to include preventive maintenance support and documentation.
  • Perform necessary emergent repairs or fabrications to minimize lab downtime.

    • Power requirement analysis
    • Cabling repair and fabrication


  • Prepares and submits material and product deficiency reports.
  • Prepares and submits Daily SITREPS to stakeholders as required.


Essential Skills and Experience:




  • Must be a U.S. Citizenand be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Seven (7)+ years of experience in a technician role with familiarity in military operations
  • Experience utilizing DoD approved maintenance manuals/procedures to troubleshoot maintenance discrepancies
  • Experience with requirements lab management, system design, integration, and testing
  • Experience with military radio architecture and troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
  • Strong understanding of Weapon Control System technologies and principles
  • Experience with weapon systems integration on air, land, or sea platforms
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reading, interpreting, and comprehending schematic diagrams and blueprints for application of advanced troubleshooting as required



Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Advanced electronics training (FC. ET, AT etc). Windows/Linux familiarity a must. Cable fabrication and repair experience desired, but will train. Must be able to verbally demonstrate proper troubleshooting technique
