Responsibilities
ECS is hiring a Senior CMT Field Technician to our team in El Paso, TX! Bring your experience to the forefront of infrastructure and construction materials testing. This role is focused on hands-on fieldwork, providing inspection and testing services across soil, concrete, asphalt, and steel during active construction projects. You'll lead tasks with minimal supervision, mentor junior staff, and uphold technical standards and safety practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform field testing and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, grout, masonry, and structural steel.
- Conduct in-place density testing using nuclear gauge equipment in accordance with applicable standards.
- Perform advanced field testing such as cone penetration, Proctor, or compaction testing based on project requirements.
- Document field observations in daily reports with clarity and accuracy.
- Communicate site updates and testing needs to project managers and supervisors.
- Train and supervise junior technicians on field protocols and safety.
- Interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications on-site.
- Attend client or internal project meetings as requested.
- Calibrate, maintain, and organize testing equipment; report malfunctions promptly.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction materials testing.
- Valid driver's license (required for site visits or company vehicle use).
- Ability to lift up to 85 lbs multiple times per day.
- OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain.
- Must hold 3 or more advanced certifications per company policy (NICET, ACI, ICC, WACEL, DOT, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring or training junior staff.
- Familiarity with electronic reporting systems (tablet, phone, laptop).
- Proficiency in reading site maps and interpreting technical specifications.
- Prior experience representing firm on full-time project assignments.
