How you'll make an impact: As a key member of the Remote Broadcast Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of high-profile remote broadcasts and live events. You will provide first-line technical support while expertly managing logistics and operational coordination. Your efforts will enable our technical team to execute flawless broadcasts, engage listeners, and deliver captivating content. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and supporting all technical elements, from small on-location talk shows to multi-stage music festival simulcasts. Additionally, your role will involve maintaining accurate financial records, streamlining procurement, documenting events, managing gear shipments, and improving workflows to elevate our technology and broadcasting capabilities. What you'll do: During your shift, you will work closely with the other members of the team to design and consult on technical plans for remote broadcast events. You will be involved in designing, integrating, and maintaining hardware for broadcast infrastructure across various remote sites, studios, and affiliate integrations throughout the U.S. Additionally, you will coordinate with colleagues to hire and manage contract engineers for a wide range of broadcast engineering tasks. You will provide first-line technical support, troubleshoot issues, manage ticketing, and report status updates to management and affected teams. You will also handle essential administrative tasks such as obtaining and submitting vendor quotes, documenting event details, and coordinating gear shipments. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will streamline processes, enabling our technical experts to concentrate on their core responsibilities and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our remote broadcast events. What you'll need: Requirements and General Skills: * Minimum 5 years of hands on technical experience in field production, maintaining and installing broadcast systems * College degree in a technical discipline or equivalent military or industry experience. * Experience with standard Google and MS office suite applications. * Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects * Strong communication and organizational skills * Work independently and in a team environment * Project professionalism in all forms of communication * Ability to multi-task and shift priorities * Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs over short distances. * Must be able to work in a 24x7x365 broadcast and production facility (i.e., days, nights, weekends, holidays) * Must have legal right to work in the U.S. Technical Experience * Ability to design, implement and configure complex audio broadcast systems including intercoms, talent/guest monitoring, and multi-track audio recordings * Basic knowledge of different WAN technologies and telecommunications services * Basic understanding and troubleshooting of data network routers, switches, firewalls, and circuits * Experience with computer networks and device network configuration as it pertains to broadcast equipment and audio/video streaming * Familiarity with different types of network cabling and terminations * Experience with broadcast tools and equipment: meters, scopes, analyzers used to troubleshoot A/V equipment * Ability to configure, operate and troubleshoot IP audio/video codecs for transmission * Digital and IP-based audio/video routing, playout and recording systems (Knowledge of AES67, Ravenna, Dante and NDI networking is a plus) * Knowledge of setup and configuration of wireless microphones and the different frequency bands * Ability to diagnose, detect and isolate equipment faults by equipment log review and analysis of signal flow documentation * Ability to read and create schematics, data flow, and architectural documents (AutoCAD/Visio) * Knowledge of configuration of Comrex, LAWO, Evertz, and other media encoding devices is a plus At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be in the range of $84,500 to $112,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
