Job Details:

Purpose

The development specialist will work with the director of development initiatives and operations to support the implementation and execution of the fundraising, development and advancement goals and initiatives of the College of Education.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee logistical support for donor engagement experiences and stewardship events, including small and large-scale gatherings, virtual or in-person touchpoints, and customized recognition opportunities that cultivate interest in and deepen relationships with alumni and friends of the College of Education.
  • Coordinate invitation lists, track RSVPs, and manage event engagement data in VIP.
  • Support the planning and event logistics for Advisory Council meetings and activities.
  • Collaborate with director to develop and design stewardship initiatives that showcase the impact of philanthropy.
  • As part of the Advancement Services Team, support the planning, coordination and production of the college's annual donor impact report, managing timelines, gathering content, and organizing materials.
  • Develop content and materials for presentations and one-pagers that highlight student success, faculty research, and community impact.
  • Support additional stewardship initiatives such as donor recognition plaques, gift anniversary pieces, and photo books.
  • Draft, edit and review donor stewardship communication such as individualized impact reports, thank you letters, and other materials that showcase the impact of donor contributions.
  • Prepare briefings for college leadership for development events and donor engagement activities.
  • Provide back-up to both development associate and director. (i.e. correspondence, vendor payments).
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Three years of experience in development work or in a related field
  • Strong organization skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with vendors and event planning
  • Strong judgement and initiative
  • Self-starter that works well as part of a team, effective at prioritizing multiple tasks and initiatives and demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • High degree of proficiency in databases and computer applications including Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of experience in development work or in a related field
  • Experience with UT databases such as VIP
  • Experience composing, writing and editing correspondence, publications and presentations
Salary Range

$68,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:
