The Manager, Data Center Operations has overall responsibility for planning, directing and coordinating activities pertaining to the day-to-day support of the data centers. They are responsible for managing the team that develops and carries out data center infrastructure technology projects. Responsibilities: Planning, installation and support of the customer's physical computer infrastructure (hardware, systems software, networks, and backup systems) Troubleshoot issues within the data center and physical infrastructure Manage and support change and release processes for physical environments Provide input with cost and design proposals in partnership with project manager and liaise with vendors Establish physical operational support procedures for all systems Lead a multi-location, cross-functional team of IT and Engineering professionals to deliver Data Center Services and Operations. Ensures compliance with guidelines and government regulations Responsible for managing staff and scheduling shifts Train all team members Create metrics and monitoring to aid in SLA reporting Assists with the development and application of business processes to ensure appropriate service levels Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes. Participate in strategic data center and operations planning Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated hands-on expertise networking and data centers technologies Demonstrated experience migrating to Cloud environments Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written, including long-form business writing on complex topics Proven ability to work with and influence mangers of other service support models and supporting teams Ability to manage globally distributed 24x7 operations to include short-notice travel in response to emerging operational issues An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to drive innovation independently; have a passion to improve at every opportunity Proven able to credibly coordinate between technical teams and business stakeholders Ability to define program goals and roadmaps based on customer needs and strategic direction, and ensure that committed projects are delivered on schedule by the relevant team members Ability to lead and work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadership Experience working with ITIL processes Motivated self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, Min USD $100,000.00/Yr. Max USD $115,000.00/Yr.
Qualifications Physical and Mental Requirements: Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and lead others to create, develop, and implement project process improvements. Must promote the culture and mission of IES, as well as program objectives to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral presentations. Must have proven high-level skills to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to scope, specifications, reporting, and quality metrics. Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Must have the ability to learn Company and customer project management systems. Must be able to successfully secure and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express credit card. Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: Must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred. Must have experience in customer and General Contractor interactions. Must have a minimum of seven (7) years supervisory or managerial experience. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project). Must meet Company minimum driving standards. Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must be able to supervise multiple Project Managers. Must have demonstrated and verifiable ability to create and manage a project schedule, scope of work, and detailed associated tasks, from project initiation through final completion and customer turnover.
