Job Summary
-
The Loudoun County Department of General Services (DGS) is currently seeking qualified applicants for an Employee Learning Coordinator vacancy. This newly created position will organize, track, and coordinate learning and career development opportunities for DGS employees to include managing the departmental employee training priorities.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Administration of the department's Learning Management System (LMS) to track employee completion of required training courses, certifications, and licensure, including keeping employees current on license and certification renewals. * Working with department managers and supervisors to create and update employee individual development plans and job family career pathways. * Managing the departmental New Employee Orientation and Safety Training programs. * Providing day-to-day support for the implementation of an upcoming Trades Apprenticeship Program (pending program approval). * Coordinating the department's Paid CDL Training Program, including obtaining signed training agreements, scheduling courses with the approved vendor, verifying employee completion, coordinating drug/alcohol testing requirements, and submitting documentation to add or remove employee CDL stipends. * Scheduling vendors to provide training for department groups or divisions (such as CPR/AED, First Aid, Ladder Safety, Defensive Driving, or Forklift/Bucket Truck), reserving conference room space, and working with the DGS Finance team to ensure appropriate vendor payments. * Preparing documentation for the certification approval process. * Sending reminder notices to employees and supervisors for upcoming training deadlines and certification/license renewals. * Serving as a departmental liaison or ambassador for one or more countywide programs, such as Wellness or DEI Ambassador. * May coordinate other related initiatives such as internships or new employee mentoring.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Training, Education, or related field; two (2) years of coordinating and implementing multiple training events in a business/work-related setting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: * HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) * Training or learning-related certifications * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) * Experience with database management * Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and/or Document Management Systems (e.g., PowerDMS) * Bilingual skills in Spanish, Persian (Farsi/Dari), Urdu, Vietnamese, Arabic, Telugu, Hindi, or Korean
