A BRIEF OVERVIEW The Operations Technician, Coating, Bead Trainer performs coating operations, conducts in-process inspections per specifications by use of calipers and/or comparator, and prepares product for coating. This position reports to the Supervisor, Operations and works with a team of Operations Technicians and Quality Control Inspectors. This role also provides training support to employees to ensure requirements of document quality systems, procedures, alerts and instructions are followed according to the company and customer requirements. The role involves working closely with departments supervisors or manager to assess training needs, conduct training sessions and drive employee development and organizational success.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Prepare product surface for coating and mix coating powder and binder.
- Perform coating operation by spraying binder on the product surface and applying coating powder using brushes and other hand tools. Repeat this process multiple times on each product to achieve.
- Inspect product per specifications visually and using calipers and/or a comparator.
- Trainer Responsibilities:
- Participate in a trainer certification program (provided by Orchid).
- Provide on the job training for new hires and ongoing training for current production team members using the three-step process to ensure effective training including demonstration, practice and evaluation.
- Maintain training progress, certification records and upload those documents into the system.
- Partner with operations, quality, engineering and safety leadership to improve processes, when needed.
- Ability to train on all shifts, support team members and able to cross train on different products.
- Basic computer knowledge is essential.
- Completes all required training.
- Use hand truck, pallet jack, carts and tables to safely transport product.
- Maintain work area, tools and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
- Follow designated safety rules and regulations.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and EHS initiatives.
- Dimensionally inspect work, using appropriate tools including, but not limited to; calipers, pin gauges, measuring instruments and surface plates, etc. as required.
- Perform weekly housekeeping per 5S schedule.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any unusual conditions to the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Follow work orders to perform operations on various parts and products
- Perform different types of operations based on manufacturing needs
- Assist in training of personnel as directed by the department Supervisor or Lead.
- Reinforces safety expectations. Ensures safety operating practices are demonstrated. Reports issues/concerns to Supervisor.
- Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Setup and executes documentation detailing preparation, part/equipment orientation and CRS (Customer Requirement Specification). Verify conformance of parts to specification requirements.
- Route non-conforming product for rework operations to ensure compliance of customer acceptance criteria and enter into ETQ database.
- Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material and any other unusual conditions to the department supervisor or lead.
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions, including classroom-based, virtual, and on-the-job training while collaborating with department managers and supervisors to assess training needs and skill gaps.
- Monitor, evaluate training effectiveness and update content, ensuring objectives and company goals are met.
- Collect feedback from participants and stakeholders to continually improve training content and delivery, in addition to, propose and implement innovative training methods to enhance learning experiences.
- Perform daily work to meet production schedules.
