Job Description

The Associate Dean for Academic Programs manages, in strong collaboration with the Dean, the administrative functions of academic programs in support of the mission of the College of Nursing. This position provides visionary leadership in curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, alumni engagement, and faculty development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
* Provide leadership to foster innovation and academic excellence across programs.
* Collaborate with the Dean, Associate Deans, Program Directors, and faculty to advance the College's mission, vision, and strategic plan.
* Represent the Dean's Office at designated campus, community, and professional meetings.

Academic Program Management
* Lead and manage systems, policies, and processes that support program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
* Coordinate academic program activities, including supervision of staff supporting program operations.
* Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements for all academic programs.
* Recommend budgets and resources to support undergraduate academic programs.

Faculty & Student Success
* Develop initiatives to promote faculty and student success in teaching and learning.
* Champion a culture that supports scholarly teaching and the scholarship of teaching.
* Oversee non-tenure track faculty hiring and evaluation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
* A terminal degree in a relevant area and a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience from which comparable knowledge and skill can be acquired.
* Current licensure (or eligibility to obtain licensure) as a Registered Nurse in Missouri, prior to employment.

Preferred Qualifications
* Strong background in undergraduate education, including managing the scale and complexity of programs that directly impact student preparedness for the workforce.
* Progressive academic administrative leadership experience in nursing.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively with nursing and interprofessional colleagues.
* Record of teaching, service, and academic accomplishments appropriate for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor.
* Demonstrated leadership skills and strong interpersonal effectiveness.
* Experience mentoring faculty, staff, or students.

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position, including the administrative stipend, is $125,000 - $138,000.

As is customary for this type of role, the position includes the opportunity to practice as a Nurse or Nurse Practitioner for up to 8 hours per week.
