Job Summary: Execute the Tactical Materials strategy in accordance with corporate policies, strategic plans & goals. Execute activities related to the Purchasing functions. Serve as champion for the MRP and MPS modules. Effectively communicate the Materials related policies, procedures and best practices to the organization and ensure compliance with same. Work closely with the Materials Manager to ensure efficient and effective processes in the local facility. Inform management of significant materials issues affecting the company. Responsibilities:
- Provide support to Materials Department.
- MRP / MPS. Execute the MRP functions related to purchased materials in accordance with defined policies, procedures and workflows. Interpret outputs of the MRP and MPS forecasting modules and recommend adjustments as appropriate.
- Purchase Orders. Raise and issue purchase orders to approved suppliers for direct and indirect materials in a timely fashion and communicate concerns and conflicts to appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Ensure all required documentation is provided to the supplier. Perform required system updates to the ERP modules in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with approval matrix for spending authorization.
- Supplier Portal. Expand and develop the use of the Supplier Web Portal. Manage all user accounts. Train all users and ensure compliance.
- Ordering Systems. Oversee and implement appropriate offline ordering systems related to vendor-managed and shop floor-controlled materials (VMI, floor-stock, Kanban's etc.). Ensure compliance to established procedures and guidelines.
- RFQ's. Request and secure quotations for direct and indirect material supplies through bidding practices to get best price, quality, lead-time and service.
- Supplier Development / Management. Monitor and communicate supplier performance. Introduce, train and establish suppliers on utilization of preferred tools and methods. Raise, issue and follow through on corrective action requests as defined by procedures. Lead and / or facilitate activities associated with product quality and development.
- Return Materials. Oversee RMA process. Request return authorization documentation, ensure materials are returned and ensure timely receipt of supplier credits for nonconforming, damaged and excess materials.
- T&C's. Ensure supplier awareness and conformance to Munters Terms and Conditions as well as Purchase Order Requirements.
- S&O. Work to optimize inventory turns and reach goals. Timely actions and communications on identified slow moving and obsolete materials.
- Cost reduction. Seek opportunities for cost reductions and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Documentation. Ensure all required documentation is stored incompliance with written procedures and guidelines. Maintain an orderly work place.
- Quality / EHS. Maintain and comply with all Munters polices and initiatives.
- Participate in annual physical inventory.
- Performs special projects, assignments, and other duties as needed in order to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in materials management desired.
- Prior knowledge of Purchasing processes and practices desired.
- Working knowledge of Glovia is a plus.
- Knowledge of Material Requirements (MRP) systems desired.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills are required as is a high level of creativity
- Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with the ability to present information in a meaningful manner
- Excellent interpersonal skills to include the ability to provide leadership and create camaraderie and synergy among cross-functional groups
- Strong PC skills including spreadsheets and word processing.
