Description

The Coordinator of International Studies Program is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and retention of international students.


Description of Essential Functions (critical tasks)

  1. Plan and implement international student recruitment initiatives in collaboration with Associate Dean of Recruitment & Enrollment Management.
  2. Evaluate international student applications for college admissions requirements.
  3. Monitor requirements of F1 student status to ensure eligibility.
  4. Promote faculty and student involvement in international education activities.
  5. Organize coordinate and conduct orientation workshops, seminars, and support groups as needed for international students.
  6. Travel abroad to provide presentations establish relationships with international agents and meet with prospective students.
  7. Participate in statewide initiatives for international programs.
  8. Promote Lake Land College's Intensive English Language Program.
  9. Advise international students consistent with their educational goals and placement scores.
  10. Facilitate partnerships with educational institutions abroad to promote the exchange of students.
  11. Assist in the general duties and responsibilities of the Recruitment & Enrollment Management Office
  12. Serve as the International Student's Association of Lake Land College club advisor.
  13. Manage budgets related to the International Studies Program.
  14. Coordinate hiring and training of student workers.
  15. Other related duties as assigned.

Specific Functional Job Requirements

Education Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communication, or closely related area.

Experience Requirements:
    Related experience in a college setting required; community college experience preferred.

Knowledge:
    Immigration and Naturalization Service regulations, international admission issues.

Skills:
    Marketing, customer service and organizational skills; interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to work with a diverse population and the challenges of second language.

Personal Requirements:
    Ability to work effectively with the administration, faculty, staff of the college, and international students; ability to vision and influence change.
