UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Licensed massage Therapist to join our Center for Life Clinic. This opportunity is a part-time (0.4FTE - 0.6FTE) day shift opening located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Minimum $56,173 - Midpoint $70,217*

*Salary is determined based on years of total relevant experience.

*Salary is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.

Summary

Performs physical evaluations of assigned patients or clients, and applies a range of appropriate manual therapeutic treatments. Implements therapeutic Massage and Myofascial treatments, develops individualized movement, exercise, and stretching plans Teaches movement and stretching classes to adults, pediatrics, and geriatric population.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Licensed Massage Therapist:

High school diploma, or GED, with current New Mexico licensure as a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) plus 2 years of directly related post-licensure experience. Completed degree from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Verification of education and licensure will be required if selected for hire.

Duties and Responsibilities of a Licensed Massage Therapist:



  1. Documents therapy in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality.
  2. Develops a wide range of treatment plans, as appropriate to clinical data, physician prescribed protocol, and/or subjects' medical history.
  3. Performs manual therapy techniques including: Massage, Myofascial Trigger Point and Myofascial release, soft tissue mobilization and joint placement.
  4. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
  5. Applies appropriate physical evaluation techniques to determine posture, gait, range of motion, muscle strength and joint stability.
  6. Consults with physicians and other health care providers in individual cases, as appropriate.
  7. Obtains patient histories and develops patient care charts.
  8. As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.
  9. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in service meetings and workshops.
  10. May perform clinical research as appropriate to specific operations.
  11. Designs and implements a variety of therapeutic exercises and conditioning programs to be performed in the clinic, the home, and/or the gym.
  12. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
