Job Description:
Rite-Hite is seeking a Plant Controller to join our Horn Lake, MS manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be a key member of our plant leadership team and a strategic partner to our site leader. This role provides financial insight, business partnership, and operational guidance to drive plant performance, while also ensuring financial accuracy and compliance. In addition to safeguarding the corporation's assets and maintaining sound accounting practices, you will play an influential role in shaping business decisions, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and supporting long-term success of the site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plant Leadership & Partnership
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Site Leader and plant leadership team, influencing operational decisions through financial insight and performance analysis.
- Provide clear, actionable reporting and analysis that enables leaders to monitor plant health, productivity, and profitability.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency with a financial perspective to ensure sustainable improvement.
- Partner with plant leadership in the development of budgets, forecasts, scorecards, and strategic initiatives.
- Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across the site.
Standard Costs
- Ensure accuracy of standard costs, labor and overhead rates, and material standards.
- Manage daily production cost flow through ERP systems and provide variance analysis with insights for corrective action.
- Continuously improve management reporting tools to monitor productivity, cost, and efficiency.
Inventory Valuation
- Ensure accuracy of perpetual inventory and monthly/year-end valuations in compliance with GAAP.
- Partner with operations to manage cycle counts, resolve errors, and reduce obsolescence and scrap.
- Drive improvements in inventory management, turns, and reporting.
Month End/Year End
- Lead month-end and year-end financial close for the site, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and financial schedules to support internal and external reporting.
- Establish new year standard costs, labor, overhead rates, and material.
- Manage state manufacturing tax credit and incentive reporting.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide ROI/IRR analysis for capital projects and evaluate improvement initiatives with financial rigor.
- Lead or support implementation of system upgrades and new processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Supervise, develop, and mentor accounting staff, building a strong local finance team.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate financial policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting required. CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred.
- Minimum five years of related experience in a complex manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in partnering with operational leadership and influencing decision-making.
- Experience in process transformation leveraging technology.
- JD Edwards experience strongly preferred.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
- Excellent operating and financial understanding of computer-based manufacturing systems.
- High proficiency in Excel spreadsheets.
- 10-20% travel required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
