Fortress Nutrition is actively hiring for a Filler Operator to work on our Beverage Canning Line 12-hour shifts, Friday-Sunday.
The right candidate will have previous experience in filler machine operating (preferably in the food and beverage industry), and have a stable work history with previous employers. Must be able to train on 1st or 2nd shift (or pre-determined schedule) during the week for up to 4+ weeks.
Schedule:

Training Hours:
1st Shift (4:00am-12:30pm, Monday-Friday)
2nd Shift (2:00pm-12:30am, Monday-Friday)
Standard Hours:
4:00am - 4:30pm, Monday-Friday (36 Hours Per Week Full-Time, Paid for 40 Hours Per Week!)
Job Summary: This is a dual role. The primary responsibilities of the Filler Operator include: safe and efficient operation of the beverage filling equipment of our high-speed canning/beverage production line to ensure accurate production, capping, and packaging of high-quality products according to customer expectations. This role plays a vital part in maintaining product quality, safety, and ensuring production targets are achieved.
This role will require cross-training on the canning line to function as an operator as needed for breaks/staffing shortages. The primary responsibilities of the Canning Line Operator include: operating high-speed canning/beverage production line equipment to create, produce and package products while working with a team to ensure the line is kept running, issues (red lights) are address/resolved with strong sense of urgency, and safe, high-quality products are produced.
The Canning Line Operator will operate the high-speed canning/beverage production line equipment to create, produce, and package products according to client requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Setup, operate and maintain semi-automatic filling equipment to ensure quality and efficiency of product output
- Perform hourly quality checks to maintain specifications of product, following MMR instructions
- Consistently read and assess real time meter values (Brix, Co2, water formula) to ensure no deviations or errors occur; Act with strong sense of urgency to resolve errors and prevent production delays
- Perform can checks for damage, scratches and imperfections
- Perform and provide seam checks for quality, testing, and can integrity
- Maintain CSW for can lid reload as needed
- Monitor production yield using the Yield Loss Calculator to assess real-time production yield data; Identify and call out any yield deviations (too low/too high) based on established targets to make necessary adjustments
- Monitor internal IM channel (Slack) for Quality updates and product specification details; Interact and make adjustments to work as needed
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation logs for filler station and surrounding areas
- Assist with line changeovers for different product or packaging formats
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and perform basic maintenance and/or cleaning
- Accurately complete production documentation, quality checks, and equipment logs
- Coordinate with Quality and Maintenance as needed to address and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or product inconsistencies immediately to Production Lead, Supervisor, or Operations Manager
- Follow all safety protocols, GMPs, and sanitation procedures at all times
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and suggest ways to improve processes
- Cross train on the canning line to support production when needed for breaks, PTO, absences, etc.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ year of machine operating experience, preferably on high-speed packaging equipment, is required
- Previous experience as a filler operator within the food/beverage industry, with an understanding of food safety & quality requirements is strongly desired
- Ability to understand throw-rate & ratio settings
- Strong attention-to-detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
- Must be able to proficiently read, write, and communicate in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a bottling and canning facility or food/beverage manufacturing environment with understanding of food safety/quality programs such as GMPs
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently required to stand; walk; talk or hear; reach above shoulders; use hands to finger, handle, grasp, pinch or touch objects, controls, tools or equipment; kneel, crouch and use foot/feet to operate machinery; bend at the waist; climb or balance
- Frequently required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, up to twelve (12) hours in a single shift
- This position requires reliability & punctuality, strong sense of urgency, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team*
Compensation Package:
- Starting Pay Rate - $21.00-$23.00+ per hour, Based on Experience
