Oct 02, 2025

The Laboratory Director's Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to SRNL's environmental protection mission by applying science and engineering to accelerate closure and reduce risk at active cleanup sites for the Department of Energy's Office of Environmental Management (DOE-EM). The postdoc will be responsible for performing and documenting laboratory applied science experimentation in the field of radioactive and hazardous material processing, stabilization, and characterization to enable nuclear materials processing, site cleanup, and waste disposition across the DOE complex.

The postdoc will perform laboratory testing and data analysis using in situ spectroscopic sensors for process monitoring in support of DOE-EM directives. Work scope will include collection of spectra and materials characterization data from multicomponent slurries during crystallization for the purpose of developing novel crystallization models via machine learning approaches.
