Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise roofing crews to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers and stakeholders to plan, execute, and monitor roofing projects according to specifications, timelines, and scope.
  • Act as the on-site liaison, facilitating clear communication between crew members, subcontractors, and leadership, while resolving issues such as material shortages, weather delays, or unexpected site conditions.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings, enforce company safety policies, and ensure proper use of PPE and safety systems at all times.
  • Train and mentor crew members on roofing techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols to promote skill development and team cohesion.
  • Prepare and set up work sites, inspecting equipment, materials, and structures to ensure readiness and compliance with project requirements.
  • Oversee and participate in roof installations, repairs, and maintenance, ensuring all work meets manufacturer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Inspect work throughout the day, making adjustments as needed to maintain craftsmanship and adherence to project goals.
  • Maintain clean, organized job sites, ensuring debris is removed and the surrounding property is respected.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, communicating progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Review shop drawings, coordinate daily workflow, and ensure crews have the proper tools and materials to meet deadlines.
  • Complete daily reports, safety logs, and timesheets, documenting incidents and submitting change order requests when necessary.
  • Travel to various worksites to perform service duties and support project execution.
  • Assist project managers with general job duties and perform additional tasks as assigned to support overall project success.


Required Education & Experience:



  • 6 years or more of roofing experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role with proven leadership and crew management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial and industrial roofing systems-including flat roofs, membrane systems, EPDM, TPO, PVC, and BUR-as well as materials, techniques, and OSHA-compliant safety practices.
  • Strong understanding of roofing safety procedures and ability to enforce company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Skilled in reading specifications, taking accurate measurements, climbing ladders, working at heights, and using hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to represent the company professionally to clients, team members, and partners in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Comfortable using computers and navigating company software systems.
  • Willing to join Local 96 or the appropriate local roofing union.


Other Details:



  • This position requires regular in-person reporting to job sites located in and around Duluth, MN.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be available for flexible work hours and willing to travel to local and regional job sites, including overnight stays.

Compensation & Benefits:



  • The expected hourly compensation for this position is $42.88 per hour. Wages and other benefits are paid in accordance with the Local 96 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
