Job Summary

Kontoor Brands, Inc. is looking for a strong Senior Accountant to step into a fast-paced, dynamic environment and become an integral part of the North America regional accounting team for our newest brand, Helly Hansen ("HH"). HH is a premium global outdoor, sailing and workwear apparel brand that was acquired by Kontoor Brands, Inc. on May 31, 2025. Kontoor Brands is a publicly traded global lifestyle apparel company, led by two of the world's most iconic brands, Wrangler and Lee.

This role will report directly to the Senior Manager- Accounting and Reporting of HH's US and Canada operations, and will be based in the Seattle, WA metro area. Travel is expected to be limited.

The Senior Accountant position is a key role in the HH accounting department, responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting at month end. This role will also be essential in HH's adoption and execution of Kontoor's internal controls framework, in order to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements in 2026. The role will be given opportunities to grow professionally, so the applicant must not only have strong general accounting skills, but a willingness to learn HH's end-to-end retail and wholesale operations, working closely with both Kontoor and HH accounting and finance groups as well as the front end of the business.

Responsibilities

• Help lead an accounting team responsible for primary elements of the monthly financial close process.
• Assist the HH accounting leadership on periodic Forecast updates, the Annual Plan and other projects to drive operational efficiencies and accurate financial reporting. bullets or less)
• Participate in process and system integration projects as the brand integrates with Kontoor's IT and Finance processes.
• Understand the end-to-end processes in order to post accurate journal entries for key balance sheet reserve accounts such inventory, bad debts, customer discounts and returns.
• Perform accounting for retail store accounts, working closely with the retail operations leadership team to better understand and account for store operations, new leases, tenant allowances and related retail inventory and accruals.
• Timely preparation of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations in compliance with SOX requirements.
• Perform accounting for intercompany relationships with HH and Kontoor entities.
• Work closely with other HH/Kontoor Finance teams such as Credit, Accounts Payable and Logistics teams to understand and account for key components of the financial statements.

Leadership

This role will report to the Senior Manager and should set a positive example for the entire accounting department through a combination of hard work and effective, pro-active communications. This person should be able to accept and implement feedback received while not being shy to voice their opinion. Specific leadership skills required for the position include:

• Confidence to present their work and financial results to HH and Kontoor Accounting teams
• Effectively communicate up to HH and Kontoor accounting leadership, as well as coach and train less experienced team members
• Timely communications and responses to questions from HH and Kontoor accounting teams.

Requirements

• Must possess a college degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or similar designation preferred but not required)
• Must have moderate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e., ability to structure and analyze larger data sets and write formulas)
• Should possess 4+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance, including relevant industry experience
• Detail oriented and able to comply with tight deadlines
• Experience in SAP S/4 HANA is preferred but not required
