We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr Solutions Delivery Manager on our Publishing team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

This role is responsible for designing and delivering process,
system, workflow, and product solutions for JAMA and the JAMA Network by
leveraging efficiencies and technologies. The role requires analytic thinking steeped
in scholarly journal publishing business models as well as new technologies. The
role combines deep domain knowledge, data-driven market analysis and strong
execution to deliver solutions that meet user needs and support revenue and
margin growth (ROI). Translates business needs into workflow or technology
solutions that drive reduced manual tasks and processing time for the business
while increasing adoption with customers. Collaborates closely with sales,
marketing and Product Managers, to develop editorial and publishing solutions,
ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives. Collaborates
closely with JAMA editorial and production to drive performance improvements,
ensuring alignment with quality and speed objectives.

Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision

  • Define and communicate a clear product vision within the periodical publishing space.
  • Conduct in-dept customer research and competitive analysis to uncover unmet needs and market opportunities.
  • Develop and refine the solutions roadmap; maintain alignment with internal teams and communicate updates across functions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners teams to align with organizational goals.
  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research to inform planning and priorities.
  • Translate customer input and research findings into actionable technical or workflow solutions, development and new ideas or concepts.

ROI Generation & Business Impact

  • Partner with sales and operations leadership to develop sales solutions with demonstrable margin increases and ROI.
  • Collaborate with the JAMA revenue teams to develop strategies to grow market share, subscription, and revenue from both new and existing products.
  • Drive solution design and requirements within specific editorial and publishing initiatives, ensuring feasibility, quality and business impact. Collaborate closely with Managers across editorial and publishing, who retain full end-to-end lifecycle ownership, to hand off well-defined solutions for execution and long-term management.
  • Establish ongoing product refinement processes, ongoing user feedback procedures, and build consensus around product upgrades and continuous improvements that bring increased customer satisfaction and margin growth.
  • Align go-to-market execution with editorial, marketing, and sales to ensure seamless product integration and market penetration.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Foster strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure transparency, alignment and delivery success.
  • Manage vendors relationships, contracts, and SLA scorecards for external companies providing SAAS solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering on product maintenance and new feature development.
  • Present proposals and progress updates to senior leadership.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to evaluate success; adjust plans based on analytics and customer feedback.
  • Lead and expand a center of excellence for product innovation, roadmap planning and ongoing enhancement efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. BA or BS required; advanced degree preferred.
  2. 7+ years' experience in STM publishing industry with knowledge of health science research and clinical periodical business models and revenue patterns.
  3. 7+ years' experience defining product strategies and shaping revenue-generating initiatives across multiple products.
  4. Experience with business analysis, authoring requirements, and user stories for digital platforms supporting electronic information products.
  5. Preferred degree in workflow design and management, ie. Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus
  6. Experience required leading go-to market strategies for new products; preferred experience managing go to market for AI based products and search tools.
  7. Experience preferred serving as lead 'scrum product owner' representing the voice of customer, business, and user within agile software development team frameworks.
  8. Experience in solution management or adjacent editorial, publishing or product management roles, with project leadership experience preferred.
  9. A solid foundational understanding of latest digital publishing technologies including AI and mobile computing platforms, integration and development with agent-based and LLM AI foundation models, XML/XQUERY/XSLT, content management platforms, search/semantics, HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
  10. Experience in driving product growth through innovation.
  11. Demonstrable communication, project management, problem-solving, and quantitative analysis skills.
  12. Ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
  13. Strong leadership, selling, and influencing skills that achieve results at all levels of management.
  14. Experience in presenting and communicating key concepts and ideas across all areas of the organization.
  15. Some travel required.

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $116,739-$154,760. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
