Position Summary |
The North Carolina Center for Health and Wellness (
NCCHW) is hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead data systems transformation efforts for Long Term Services and Supports (
LTSS) systems and other systems across North Carolina. Leadership of these efforts will help advance the NC Center for Health and Wellness mission in alignment with
UNC Asheville values and strategies.

Position duties will include collaborating with the NC Center for Health and Wellness (
NCCHW) and Healthy Aging NC (
HANC) team on information technology and funding pathways for programs offered by a statewide network of partners, convening meetings, documenting progress and disseminating information, managing independent contractors, preparing reports, coordinating communication among partners and the funder, and collaboratively contributing to
HANC/
NCCHW leadership and sustainability efforts. This role will also contract and train Systems Training Specialists.
Key areas of focus will include:
Systems Strategy & Modernization - Oversee referral platform alignment, needs assessment for NCCARE360 modifications, stakeholder tech coordination Cross-Sector Stakeholder Engagement - Regularly convene and communicate with LTSS providers, Aging/Disability networks, etc. Data & Quality Infrastructure - Develop data collection forms/processes; identify referral data metrics; guide IT vendors as needed Communications & Training - Create training materials and guidance docs; support statewide implementation of workflows Technical Assistance & Partner Support - Provide training and TA to community orgs and workshop leaders; maintain statewide leader engagement Data Management & Analysis - Oversee workshop database, analyze pre/post data, support evidence-based program fidelity Reporting & Evaluation - Compile data and narrative for, align activities with required milestones, coordinate grant deliverables, track progress, write reports Communications & Promotion - Maintain newsletter and outreach strategies, lead social media promotion of programming
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead Statewide Initiatives (40%)
- Lead all aspects of the NWD initiative, serving as the central point of contact for NCCHW, ACL and statewide partners.
- Facilitate and support the advancement of the NWD Governing Body and coordinate its three working groups (Technology/Data Governance; Provider Support; Funding & Sustainability).
- Coordinate planning and implementation of project objectives, including IT modernization, referral pathway design, and expansion of CBO/provider partnerships.
Collaborate with National and Statewide Partners (15%)
- Collaborate with national and statewide partners such as the Division of Aging, NC Area Agencies on Aging, NC Coalition on Aging, and others.
- Collaborate with the NC Division of Aging to align NWD activities with the North Carolina Multisector Plan for Aging and other statewide initiatives.
Collaborate with NCCHW and Healthy Aging NC (HANC) Teams (10%)
- Coordinate NWD efforts with other projects housed within HANC's initiative to support a continuum of care.
- Work with NCCHW program leads to align the NWD project with related initiatives.
Conduct Program Assessment (10%)
- Leverage public health knowledge, data management modernization and transformation abilities, and epidemiology skills to inform data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Guide assessment, planning, integration, and evaluation activities, ensuring deliverables align with grant goals and are completed on time.
Support and Report on Program Progress (10%)
- Deliver technical assistance and systems training to community-based partners, ensuring fidelity to data reporting processes.
- Lead preparation of semiannual progress reports and the final sustainability report for ACL.
- Represent North Carolina at bimonthly ACL grantee calls and national recipient meetings.
- Work with University and Center faculty and staff to disseminate the Center's work at state and national levels, including peer-reviewed publications, white papers, policy briefs, news releases and the development of slide decks for use by staff and faculty at conferences.
- Implement NCCHW's marketing and communications strategy through collaboration with NCCHW's Marketing & Communication Consultant.
Engage Financial Processes (5%)
- Manage contractor relationships, budgets, and reporting requirements in coordination with NCCHW administrative teams.
Plan for Sustainability (5%)
- Contribute to sustainability and scaling strategies by identifying shared infrastructure, funding opportunities, and collaborative pathways across initiatives.
Other duties as assigned (5%)
- This position reports to the Director of the NC Center for Health and Wellness and will work closely with other center staff, UNC Asheville's Health Sciences department and other UNC Asheville faculty, students and staff.
- This is a time-limited position based primarily on grant funding through May 2027. Continued employment would be contingent on additional awards.
This position is primarily funded by a 2-year (
FYS 2025 - 2027) cooperative agreement with the U.S. Administration for Community Living (
ACL) for the No Wrong Door initiative. The purpose of this project is to improve access to
LTSS across the state by enhancing IT systems, increasing provider and community-based organization (
CBO) participation, and streamlining referral and eligibility pathways. Strategies outlined in the federal funding opportunity for this project include: (1) enhancing equitable access to long-term services and supports (
LTSS) through integrated referral and eligibility systems, (2) advancing person-centered approaches to care coordination, and (3) strengthening sustainable infrastructure through cross-sector partnerships and diversified funding strategies.
Additional funding for this position comes from a 5-year (2023-anticipated 2028) cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control. Through the work outlined above, the Senior Project Manager will support aligned systems for referrals, tracking participation and outcomes, and marketing and communications for the
CDC project, which reduces statewide arthritis burden in NC. |
