Position description

Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist - Krummel lab

We seek to hire a research assistant to work within a basic science research laboratory studying the molecular mechanisms of macrophage differentiation and function. Responsibilities may include basic cell culture and molecular biology experiments, generation of tumor slice cultures, sc injection of cells into mice, immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, use of statistical packages to analyze high-dimensional datasets, maintenance of records and shared laboratory reagents, and other duties as assigned. Incumbent is expected to work well as part of a team and have enthusiasm for the practice of science.

Required Qualifications:



  • Junior Specialist - Baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) in immunology, tumor biology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics or a related science.
  • Assistant Specialist - Master's degree in immunology, tumor biology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics or a related science.
  • Associate Specialist - Master's degree (or equivalent degree) in immunology, tumor biology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics or a related science.
  • Full Specialist - terminal degree (or equivalent degree) in immunology, tumor biology, chemistry, biology, biochemistry, physics or a related science.
  • Applicants must have obtained the degree requirement for the Specialist rank by the time of hire.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position.
  • Applicant's materials must list (pending) qualifications upon submission.


Required Qualifications:



  • Post-graduate training in the field.
  • Independent specialized research.
  • Experience with tumor models.
  • Experience working in an immunology research laboratory.
  • Facility with advanced molecular biology approaches, including CRISPR.
  • Strong organizational skills.
