THE ROLE

The Senior Strategist - Investment Product Development (CITs) will serve as a product expert for retirement vehicles and strategies. The Senior Strategist is the primary product owner for MFS' Collective Investment Trust lineup and key participant in ongoing development of retirement products with focus on target date offerings. This individual will maintain a strong understanding of the industry with a particular emphasis on the overall competitive product landscape and MFS' positioning.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Serve as the primary Collective Investment Trusts (CITs) product expert and product owner in Global Product and overall Distribution organization. Maintain a strong understanding of the industry with a particular emphasis on the overall competitive product landscape and MFS' positioning.

  • Support broad based product initiatives across channels through market research and analysis utilizing outside databases such as Morningstar, Strategic Insight, eVestment.

  • Identify key industry trends impacting business, such as private asset classes entering defined contribution market, and translate into strategic recommendations to capitalize on business opportunities.

  • Provide timely reporting of key business metrics such as market share (flows and assets) within the industry. Continually review key competitor offerings for impact to current and future offering.

  • Support strategic planning efforts throughout the organization by providing the necessary intelligence to guide the process, including determining market sizing and growth; analyzing key competitors; providing pricing and product comparisons.

  • Represent MFS on appropriate industry committees as necessary.

  • Communicate key competitive intelligence to target audiences throughout the organization in a timely and relevant fashion. Extensive experience communicating

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree with strong record of accomplishment.

  • 8-12 years of experience in financial services, product development, competitive analysis and research.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the defined contribution market and more specifically Collective Investment Trusts (CITs).Understanding of private asset classes in the defined contribution marketplace.

  • Project management experience with proven ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Strong expertise in Morningstar and eVestment.

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a variety of functions across the organization and at varying levels, including with investment management, sales, marketing, compliance and operational teams.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Accustomed to working with and presenting to senior management.

  • In-depth knowledge of markets for investment products across various distribution channels.

  • Superb business judgment, problem solving and organizational skills. Hands-on, highly motivated self-starter.

  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills; must be able to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with all departments and organizational levels.

  • Strong research and analysis skills with the ability to synthesize and interpret data.

  • Willingness to travel to attend applicable industry meetings, conferences, and sales meetings.

  • FINRA series 7 and 63 registrations in accordance with MFS' licensing policy.

  • MBA preferred.

Salary Range: $128,500 to $192,500

This position is eligible for competitive incentive bonus.

This range reflects our good-faith expectation for what we'll pay depending on the candidate's experience, training and education. In addition to the salary, we also offer significant and competitive incentive compensation based on both individual and company performance. Other components of our Total Rewards Package include:

  • MFS contributes an amount equal to 15% of your base salary to your retirement account that is separate from the company-sponsored 401(k)
