Senior Analyst - Inventory Management Acquisition Support

Sayres Defense is seeking a Part Time Temporary Senior Analyst (Approximately 25 hours week for 6 months) to provide Inventory Management Acquisition Support for Navy watercraft programs. This role supports the management of over 3,000 assets across the Navy's boat and combatant craft inventory, ensuring accurate data, policy alignment, and efficient acquisition and property management processes.

The Senior Analyst will manage customer support, transaction operations, inventory analysis, and process improvement initiatives to ensure program objectives, auditability, and warfighter readiness.

Acquisition Project Analysis



  • Review and analyze acquisition project information such as unit cost, delivery schedules, and configuration data to support process improvements and reduce redundancy.
  • Support collaborative meetings and process improvement events.
  • Document high-level acquisition processes and provide recommendations for more efficient information management.


Policy Alignment and Awareness



  • Support alignment of inventory and asset management policies with program objectives.
  • Develop summaries and awareness materials for stakeholders on new or updated policies.
  • Provide input on policy revisions and emerging changes to ensure compliance and awareness across the enterprise.


Fulfillment and Inventory Tracking Improvements



  • Support the development of systematic methods to track inventory planning and fulfillment execution.
  • Improve tracking accuracy, eliminate redundant data entry, and mitigate risks of improper issue or allocation.
  • Document current processes, recommend improvements, and support implementation of near-term solutions.


*Allowance Review and Re-Baselining



  • Review allowance types and budget alignment to ensure inventory requirements meet program objectives.
  • Identify outdated or inaccurate allowance data and document necessary updates.
  • Support process improvements and data integrity within enterprise inventory management systems.


Desired Skills Include:



  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken, ideally with experience writing formal correspondence (letters, memos, etc.)
  • Administrative work experience, ideally with a USN, USCG, or similar organization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and with Adobe Acrobat Professional
  • Experience with data entry using authoritative databases
  • Experience accomplishing work using process workflow engines/databases and associated data repositories
  • Experience with transactional work, including collection of associated supporting documentation
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks for multiple customers and program stakeholders
  • Proactive communication, database management, and project management skills
  • Desire to work with a dynamic organization in a key supporting role


Required:



  • Bachelor's degree and 10 to 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Inventory management functions to include overarching Inventory Management Acquisition Support, Stock Point and Associated Inventory Management, Property Management, Sales Exchange Program Management, and new asset Acquisition Project support.
  • Active Secret security clearance verifiable in DISS, or the ability to obtain one.
