Various Engineering Roles and What we Look for

Mechanical Design Engineer: The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for researching, planning, designing and developing the mechanical and structural portions of the company's products. This individual will also direct and coordinate activities involved in process selection for the fabrication, assembly and testing of mechanical designs in accordance with product requirements. This individual might serve as the lead engineer on projects and may coordinate the work of others or mentor other employees.

Electrical Engineer: The Electrical Engineer will support the team by acting as lead on projects and by providing technical leadership within the electrical engineering group and also responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining the electrical systems and component. Their work ensures that devices are safe, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Systems Engineer: The Systems Engineers analyzes, designs, develops and tests medical device systems to ensure the integration of hardware, software, reliability, regulatory compliance, and safety requirements. Systems Engineers serve as contributing members of the Systems Engineering group responsible for the design and development of not only the overall radiation delivery system of the product, but also the subsystems which comprise it.

Manufacturing Engineer: The Manufacturing Engineer engages closely with peers to ensure the appropriateness of engineering specifications and the development of robust manufacturing processes to support new product introductions, quality improvements and cost reduction. They will serve as a technical point person in manufacturing for definition, development, troubleshooting and optimization of manufacturing processes, equipment, and tools.

Test Engineer: The Product Test Engineer works on the verification and validation, software and system quality assurance of medical devices. The Test Engineer will also develop test cases and procedures; execute test protocols; write and improve Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions; perform V&V work using state of the art testing and test automation tools.

Motion Control Engineer: The Motion Control Engineer is responsible for the research, planning, design, and development of the core software elements that control the critical motion mechanisms contributing to the function and performance Accuray's radiation therapy products. This specialized role will also assist with defining the high-level architecture and detailed hardware implementation of these motion devices, leveraging a cross-functional skillset across multiple applicable engineering disciplines (Software, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, etc) to help solve complex engineering problems.

Imaging Systems Engineer: The Imaging Systems Engineer at Accuray defines, develops, and supports systems for image-guided radiation therapy. This product-focused role emphasizes the development and integration of imaging hardware, software, and algorithms to enable clinical use cases, assure patient outcomes, achieve customer satisfaction, and improve product reliability. The successful candidate will work proactively and collaboratively on development teams to provide subject matter expertise and facilitate project execution, through intimate understanding of imaging subsystems and components, their interfaces, and clinical imaging tasks.
