Job Description

Position Overview:

The Architecture Drives Business Manager, reporting to the Director of Low Voltage Drives, is responsible for business strategy, product portfolio strategy, product development strategy, global sales growth, and cross functional collaboration, and the profitability of the business.

You will have Product Management responsibilities for the Architecture Drive portfolio including long-term product line planning, definition, pricing strategy and negotiation, forecasting, promotion, competitive analysis, and product life cycle management.

You will lead and influence the organization in the development and implementation of programs in support of product line objectives (e.g. global promotion programs, pre-sales & post-sales collateral, target account programs, trade shows).

You will be responsible for product line global P&L. Their responsibility includes overall accountability for sales, manufacturing, quality, product costs, margins, expenses and the overall assets employed by the business.

You will participate in the development of the Low Voltage Drives global business strategy, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and the annual Business Strategy Review (BSR).

You will manage the architecture drives product life cycle; leverages technology to drive innovation, the development of new products, and elegant migration of end of life products.

This leader demonstrates leadership supporting the attainment of productivity targets.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develops 5-year strategic plans for market development and market access model to achieve a number one position in global market share
  • Applies in-depth market, customer, industry, application, and technical knowledge to prepare business cases for product development projects, customer requirements documents (CRD) and product requirement documents (PRD).
  • Determines key product development and innovation plans. Optimizes the product's market position and profitability in line with Rockwell Automation's growth and performance strategy
  • Meets or exceeds annual operating plan
  • Presents to senior executives on business strategy and product development plans
  • Passionate about leading and developing teams; track record of developing and promoting key talent
  • Operate, respond, work in multiple time zones as required
  • Manages through influence engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, quality and third-party partners, etc.
  • Provide leadership for key employee initiatives including the employee engagement survey, culture of inclusion initiatives and ethics

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required- we will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, not now or in the future, for this job opening
  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 35% of time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Typically requires 8+ years relevant leadership experience in either Product Management, Product Development, Commercial Marketing, and/or Sales experience in the Drives or Industrial Automation industry.
  • MBA and an undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated team leadership with blend of direct reports and matrix environment to achieve objectives.
  • Experience managing a multi-product global portfolio.
  • 5+ years experience operating in a matrixed global organization.
  • Experience as a Business Manager in a complex global business.
  • Commercial experience in sales or marketing.
