Job Description

Position Summary:

Ensure conformance and ongoing improvement of the QMS (Quality Management Systems) at all Ceramics Group facilities.

Essential functions:

  • Fulfill the document control function for US PCC Airfoils Ceramics Group sites using Master Control
  • Coordinate document control activities with the Merida, Mexico Ceramics Group facility
  • Ensure controlled technical information is handled in accordance with applicable trade compliance procedures
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to customers including MPP's (Manufacturing Process Plans) and die life reports
  • Maintain conformance and adherence to Pratt & Whitney requirements as the Quality CLCSR (Certified Laboratory Control at Source Representative (for Pratt & Whitney laboratory requirements)
  • Coordinate internal audit schedules for US facilities (will be adding Mexico audits after visiting next week)
  • As part of the internal audit team, conduct QMS and other internal audits at Sanford, Octavia, Wickliffe, and Merida as required
  • Maintain logbooks for change management and other QMS activities to ensure records are complete and accurate
  • Coordinate the creation of new training plans, ensure new-hire training plans are completed before employees are released for further production, conduct new-hire quality orientation, and issue appropriate training for document changes.
  • Review documents for approvals including purchase orders, procedures, specifications, temporary documents, deviations, trials, and quality alerts.
  • Create, travel, approve, and activate changes to routers and item masters
  • where appropriate for routers, BOL's
  • Track QMS related metrics and lead projects to improve
  • Facilitate and track metrics in business unit NPI (new product introduction) meetings with a cross functional team and recommend improvements.
  • Classify and approve new suppliers and maintain supplier certifications for those with classifications that require it.
  • Have a firm understanding of AS9100, ISO9001, and customer requirements as well as Ceramics Group procedures and processes
  • Provide feedback to Quality, Engineering, and Operations when QMS issues and/or concerns arise
  • Maintain accurate QMS related records
  • Be willing to learn and perform various new tasks and assignments.

Required Skills:

  • Must be detail oriented and well organized.
  • Ability to work in a high paced, cross-functional team.
  • Must be self-directed to accomplish the team goals with minimum supervision.
  • Must have good interpersonal skills for daily interactions with customers, other PCC facilities, suppliers, internal employees, and the quality team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to Merida and/or Sanford to conduct training, resolve issues, or as needed to support development.

    Experience & Education

    • 5+ years working to improve various elements of a QMS
    • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Power Bi reports
    • Ability to utilize and administrate Master Control document control software and utilize other business software
    • Ability to read and understand customer flow downs and internal procedures for various business functions and processes
