Position Summary The Department of Biology at the University of New Mexico invites applications for two full time, 9-month appointments at the rank of Lecturer (II or III) to start August 10, 2026. The successful candidates will teach introductory and intermediate courses in a) Microbiology or b) Anatomy and Physiology as required in our undergraduate curriculum and may have other teaching opportunities depending on the needs of the Department. Duties will also include supervising lab preparatory staff and graduate-student teaching assistants in the companion lab courses. Lecturers are non-tenure track faculty with annual reviews of performance and three promotion tiers. Workload is determined by the Chair of the Department of Biology and policies of the University of New Mexico. For best consideration, all application materials must be received by October 31, 2025. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Masters or PhD in Biology or a related field by date of application 2. Minimum of at least 2 years of teaching experience in an academic institution of higher education Preferred Qualifications: 1. Demonstrated strength in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. 2. Demonstrated experience in lecturing and/or coordinating laboratory classes in a) Microbiology and/or b) Anatomy and Physiology. 3. Ability to mentor and manage teaching assistants at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. 4. Ability to contribute to other core areas in the department. 5.
