The Director of Product Management - AI, 0 to 1 will drive the strategic direction and execution of our 0 to 1 efforts in agentic AI for Epicor's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms. This role leads forward-deployed engineering teams with customers to solve customer 10x problems, the Agent Foundry, and updates to our core ERPs to support scaling AI. This role is critical in shaping our long-term product roadmap for LLMs, RAG, and AI UX. This individual ensures that our offerings not only delight our customers in hard-to-replicate, margin enhancing ways, but also anticipates future trends in artificial intelligence and machine learning. What you will be doing
Mastery of Senior-Level Product Management: Demonstrate complete ownership of high-level product management duties and responsibilities, ensuring best practices and strategic excellence across the AI product portfolio. Strategic Direction & Prioritization: Lead the orchestration of strategic direction and set priorities for our AI applications and functionalities. Define the vision and roadmap that drive innovation in AI-driven products. Product Portfolio & Roadmap Management: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the product portfolio-from ideation through development, launch, and iterative improvements. Partner with executive leadership, peers, and Product Development to create and manage a multi-year (potentially global) AI product roadmap. Enhancement & Customer Request Prioritization: Balance new feature development with enhancements based on customer feedback and emerging market trends. Prioritize improvements and requests to maximize product impact and ROI. Pricing & ROI Analysis: Evaluate and update pricing models using customer value and ROI analysis, ensuring that pricing strategies align with the value delivered by AI modules and features. Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Independently run cross-functional team meetings, coordinating efforts across engineering, data science, UX, and marketing to align product initiatives with business goals. Go-to-Market Strategy Support: Collaborate with the Product Marketing team to develop comprehensive go-to-market plans. This includes identifying reference customers, managing beta programs, enabling sales training, and producing sales materials and demos tailored for AI products. Customer Advisory Engagement: Lead and facilitate customer advisory meetings to gather deep insights, validate product directions, and ensure that customer needs are central to the AI product strategy. Trend Monitoring & Innovation: Stay current with external trends in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science, integrating emerging technologies and methodologies into our products and processes.
What you will likely bring
Expert Product Management Knowledge: Proven expertise in managing complex products, with a deep understanding of product management including customer empathy and validation, feature prioritization, lifecycle management and strategic roadmapping. Advanced AI & Machine Learning Acumen: Extensive knowledge of AI and machine learning frameworks, algorithms, and technologies. Ability to evaluate, select, and integrate state-of-the-art AI solutions into product strategies. Analytical & Financial Expertise: Strong analytical skills paired with financial acumen, enabling data-driven decision making and the ability to perform rigorous ROI analyses. Leadership & Communication: Exceptional leadership abilities to inspire and manage cross-functional teams, combined with outstanding written and verbal communication skills for clear articulation of product visions and strategies. Agile Methodology & SDLC Understanding: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle to effectively oversee iterative product development in a dynamic environment. SaaS & Cloud-Based Platforms: Experience with SaaS models and cloud-based AI solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability of product offerings in competitive markets. Previous ERP experience is a plus!
What will set you apart
Experience: 12+ years of progressive experience in product management with a demonstrated track record of success in launching and scaling technology products, preferably in AI, machine learning, or related fields. Industry Expertise: 4+ years of specialized experience within the AI domain, demonstrating deep technical and market understanding. Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced degrees (MBA, Master's in AI/ML) are a plus. Additional Qualifications Programming Skills: Basic proficiency in coding languages (e.g., Python, C#) to engage more deeply with technical teams and validate approaches. Data Engineering Exposure: Familiarity with ETL processes and data pipeline concepts to better understand underlying data flows. Hands-On ML Frameworks: Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn Hands-On Gen AI Tooling: Experience with prompt engineering, RAG, and evals
