Job Overview: UXE Ergonomics Engineer

As an Ergonomics Engineer at Stellantis, you will play a critical role in researching and developing User Experience (UX) requirements that influence the design of future vehicles. Working closely with global team members, you will apply ergonomic principles to ensure that users experience optimal interaction with products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct research (e.g. benchmarking, literature, user testing, virtual analysis etc.) and ergonomic evaluations of vehicle cockpits to provide recommendations and develop requirements for UX and ergonomic interfaces
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, engineering, and UX teams to integrate ergonomic requirements into product development (e.g. reach, access, intuitiveness, and first-time ease of use).
  • Utilize digital human modeling tools (e.g., Jack, NX) to simulate human interaction and validate design concepts.
  • Support vehicle packaging studies and occupant accommodation assessments across global anthropometric ranges.

Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Ergonomics, Human Factors, Physiology, Biomechanics, Human Kinetics, Psychology, Cognitive systems or related field from an ABET accredited program
  • Minimum THREE (3) years of relevant Engineering experience
  • Proficiency in ergonomic assessment tools and digital human modeling software.
  • Strong understanding of anthropometry, biomechanics, and cognitive ergonomics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in automotive, design or ergonomic related fields
  • Prior experience with customer interfaces incorporating increasingly new technology
  • Prior experience with HMI & ergonomic specifications and functional objectives
  • Exhibits excellent, clear, and detail-oriented written and verbal communications on highly complex topics
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines amongst changing vehicle designs
