The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The Cellular Immunotherapy Laboratory at CUIMC is seeking a full-time Technician B to support clinical trials focused on cellular immunotherapy. This position involves performing routine and specialized laboratory tasks under general supervision in a regulated clean room environment. The technician will contribute to cell processing, tissue culture, and immunological assays in support of investigational product development and testing.

Responsibilities



  • Perform routine and advanced laboratory procedures in compliance with cGMP standards:

    • Cell processing and manufacturing of investigational products
    • Cryopreservation and maintenance of cGMP-grade cell lines
    • Preparation of reagents and media


  • Conduct cell culture initiation, propagation, and sample preparation for quality control testing.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; perform daily monitoring and coordinate calibration and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist in product development, equipment qualification, and method validation studies.
  • Perform immunological assays including:

    • Flow cytometry
    • qPCR, ELISA, ELISPOT
    • Genetic modification of human cells using viral and non-viral vectors


  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation:

    • Batch records
    • Logs, forms, and summary reports
    • Sponsor and regulatory documentation


  • Support clinical trial activities:

    • Receipt and shipment of investigational products
    • Thawing, dose calculation, and preparation for administration
    • Ensure chain of identity and custody


  • Participate in deviation reporting and resolution processes.
  • Maintain readiness for inspections and ensure compliance with FDA, FACT, and institutional policies.
  • Work independently and collaboratively; assist in experimental design and protocol development.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with basic and advanced laboratory techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • One year of experience in tissue culture and/or immunological techniques.


Other Requirements



  • The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made
  • Medical clearance and participation in the medical surveillance program

    • Potential bloodborne pathogen exposure


  • Success completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
