In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding environmental integrity across diverse operating segments and construction projects. You will apply your deep knowledge of environmental programs and regulations to coordinate compliance efforts, manage remediation activities, and provide essential support to teams. Your work will directly influence the company's commitment to environmental responsibility, ensuring that all activities align with best practices and regulatory requirements. You'll be a key advisor, a hands-on leader, and a strategic partner in maintaining the balance between operational needs and ecological preservation. **Primary Responsibilities:** * Coordinate and facilitate environmental project permitting for maintenance, growth, and large capital projects, from initial application through to completion. * Manage the permit process for all media, ensuring the quality and accuracy of practical permit conditions based on compliance risk evaluation. * Oversee and manage multiple compliance systems across various media for complex operating sites and projects, contributing to system enhancements and training new users. * Lead and participate in agency inspections, effectively representing the company's operating parameters, construction practices, and compliance positions during negotiations. * Develop and implement tools and templates for collecting environmental compliance and remediation information, enhancing data quality and company performance. * Manage field inspections for operating assets and construction projects, providing senior-level guidance on compliance requirements and operational parameters. * Enhance existing compliance programs based on audit results and lead internal audits of facilities. * Recognize and resolve regulatory applicability issues, identify compliance requirements, and apply risk-based analysis to operations and construction practices. * Provide mentorship and support to entry-level professionals on compliance system management and organizational procedures. * Negotiate with and evaluate the performance of contract and consultant resources to ensure appropriate service levels and competitive rates. * Review environmental inspection reports and resolve potential compliance issues using extensive knowledge of regulations, construction practices, and operating assets. * Collect and review environmental field samples (air, water, and waste) for analysis. * Participate in spill drills and tabletop exercises, providing 24/7 on-call emergency response support for assigned areas, including reporting spills/releases to agencies. **Required Skills & Experience:** * Minimum of 8 years of related experience in environmental compliance within the energy industry or environmental consulting, specifically working with environmental regulations. * Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, or engineering preferred, or a combination of formal education and equivalent job-related experience. * Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with RCRA, NPDES, and SPCC regulations. * Proven ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence, as well as company responses to agency requests. * Strong capability to evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance, and company policies. * Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistics. * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact, advise, conduct verbal presentations, and develop communications using fundamental technical writing. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable job-related software. * A self-starter with a motivated and independent work ethic. * Ability to travel to other locations as required. * May be assigned a company vehicle, requiring a valid driver's license. * Ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergency response, unless on approved PTO. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Knowledge and experience in remediation and/or spill cleanup. * Familiarity with Title V and Air regulations. **Benefits & Perks:** This role offers a comprehensive benefits package including up to 14% company contributions to 401K (includes 6% quarterly profit sharing), an annual bonus, a discount stock purchase program, a minimum of 3 weeks PTO, plus sick time and floating holidays. **About Aquent Talent:** Aquent Talent connects the best talent in marketing, creative, and design with the world's biggest brands.
