Role Description & Responsibilities

Our Dassault Systemes Industry Process Electromagnetics team is excited to announce we have a hybrid internship opportunity available in our Waltham, MA or Santa Clara offices!

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industry-leading 3D Electromagnetics simulation software SIMULIA CST Studio Suite and see how these tools are used to solve complex engineering problems across various high-tech industries. You will be mentored by experienced Industry Process Consultants, helping you bridge the gap between classroom theory and professional practice.

This role focuses on assisting Industry Process Consultant team and will provide you with exposure to the full scope of their work. You will:

  • Assist senior engineers in developing and preparing technical demonstrations and tutorials for existing and potential customers.

  • Contribute to the analysis of electromagnetic simulation results for applications spanning RF/Microwave design, antenna performance, Signal Integrity (SI), and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC).

  • Gain experience with numerical and simulation techniques used for electromagnetic and multi-physics analysis.

  • Develop technical skills by working hands-on with computational Electromagnetics software tools, such as SIMULIA CST Studio Suite.

  • Research and document technical requirements and emerging technologies in the High-Tech, Aerospace & Defense, or Life Sciences sectors to support solution development.

  • Participate in team meetings and presentation rehearsals, helping to refine the alignment of complex engineering solutions with customer needs.

  • Present simulation results and findings to the team.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate strong foundational knowledge and a high aptitude for learning.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.

  • Completion of or active enrolment in core electromagnetics and/or RF/Microwave engineering coursework (e.g., Electromagnetics I & II, RF Circuit Design, Antenna Theory, EMC).

  • Foundational understanding of 3D electromagnetic principles and simulation concepts.

  • Familiarity with engineering simulation tools, demonstrated through academic projects or lab work.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly explain technical concepts.

  • A self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented attitude with a strong desire to learn and solve problems.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior academic exposure to commercial simulation software like SIMULIA CST Studio Suite (or similar tools).

  • Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for post-processing data.

Compensation for the role will be commensurate with experience. The total expected compensation range will be between $29 - $40 per hour.
