Job Type: Full-time (Hourly/Non-Exempt, Overtime Eligible)

Location: Varies - Supports all buildings within La Causa, Inc.

La Causa, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Facilities Worker to join our team. This role ensures that our facilities remain safe, clean, and well-maintained for the children, families, and staff we serve.

Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, the Facilities Worker performs a wide variety of maintenance, housekeeping, groundskeeping, and repair duties, while also providing support for security and emergency needs.

This is a hands-on role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and strong problem-solving skills.

• Perform minor and routine repairs, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work
• Operate and maintain vehicles, power tools, snowplows, and other equipment
• Conduct housekeeping tasks: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, restroom cleaning, dusting, and floor care
• Maintain grounds (snow/ice removal, lawn care, landscaping)
• Patrol and monitor facilities for safety/security concerns
• Assist with event setup, equipment transport, and emergency response
• Complete and submit logs, reports, and records as required
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent requests
• Report facility issues to the supervisor promptly
• Perform other duties as assigned
  

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, and lift
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor indoors/outdoors
• Work in extreme seasonal temperatures
• Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities
  

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors across multiple facilities
• Travel required between sites
• Flexible hours with on-call responsibilities
  

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least one (1) year of paid maintenance/facilities experience
• Knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical work
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable using tools and equipment
• Valid Wisconsin driver's license, reliable transportation, and state minimum auto insurance
• Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred
• Proficient organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
• Positive, team-oriented "people person" with good communication skills
• Must be willing to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation
• Must pass all background checks
