Job Summary

Provides visionary and strategic leadership for all on- and off-campus events and programming hosted by the Office of Admissions. This role is responsible for the design, planning, and successful implementation of high-impact recruitment programs, ensuring they align with the university's strategic enrollment goals and are measured against performance metrics. The Associate Director also supervises staff and manages campus visit and event operations to maximize enrollment yields and return on investment (ROI).

  • Provides vision, leadership and strategic event planning for undergraduate and graduate admissions.
  • Performs analysis, identifies problems and solutions, makes recommendations and evaluates results for undergraduate and graduate admissions.
  • Serves as liaison between university administrators, students, parents and faculty regarding university-wide admissions events.
  • Interprets policies and procedures for University personnel, high school guidance counselors, prospective student and their parents.
  • Works with vendors and staff to purchase and manage collateral including give-away items, staff uniforms, and printed materials.
  • Monitors staff performance, providing timely feedback and all necessary training to ensure ROI is achieved for all programs. Directly supervises other professional and support staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of communication strategies including but not limited to; collateral material, social media and email communication.
  • Serves as key personnel in the development of a strategic recruitment plan.
  • Works collaboratively with school districts, career associates and international agencies to ensure FIU engages in ethical recruitment and admission practices.
  • Analyzes data to make recommendations about campus tours and recruitment programming.
  • Manages the master events calendar including budget and schedule for on and off campus admissions events.
  • Collaborates with FIU constituents to develop and implement coordinated event objectives.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's and seven (7) years of related experience OR Master's degree and five (5) years of related experience OR a JD and three (3) years of experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience using CRM software (e.g., Slate, Salesforce) to track and analyze event effectiveness, directly correlating on- and off-campus events with enrollment yields and calculating Return on Investment (ROI).
  • Experience communicating complex program objectives and enrollment goals clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences, including prospective students, parents, and university leadership.
  • Extensive professional experience in university admissions operations, event planning, or project management, specifically related to student recruitment and yield activities.
  • Experience building, cultivating, and maintaining effective and collaborative partnerships with both internal university departments and external constituent groups (e.g., high schools, community organizations).
