Position Title: TOOL ENGINEER Position Summary: Makes parts from prints using CNC and manual knee mills, surface grinders, saws and horizontal lathes. Repairs and builds internal tooling and fixturing. Performs hand work and repairs on large parts. Reports to: Operations Manufacturing Team Leader (Machining) or Production Facility Manager Personnel: Not applicable. Accountabilities: Accountable for understanding machine operations and functions, developing and implementing machine and process improvements, following manufacturing SOPs and WIs, and assisting in creating manufacturing WIs. Job Qualification Requirements: Educational Experience - A minimum of four years of trade school, vocational education, or apprenticeship. GED required. Experience - Required to have specialized experience with particular materials and standard tool room equipment. Be able to adjust speeds and feeds for various material types from Aluminum to High temp alloys. A minimum of six years' work experience is preferred. Physical Demands - The employee is required to:
Certification Required - None Visual Acuity - Near acuity and accommodation as required for reading computer screens, documents, machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts and machinery.
