As a Buyer/Planner, you'll be responsible for purchasing a variety of equipment, supplies and services utilizing computerized systems. What you'll do: 
 Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets which includes both consumables and expendablesReview and prepare customer quotations as submitted by technicians for Supply Chain DirectorSupport the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operationsAct as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on supplyMonitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organizationProvide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activitiesPrepare reports and updates as and when requiredWork closely with others in the procurement function and review opportunities for continuous improvement and business improvementsImprove prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methodsPrepare and raise purchase ordersBuild, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communicationsEnsure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationshipsEnsure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and proceduresConduct research for new suppliersCompile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluationAssess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract complianceContact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issues Position Requirements: 
 High School Diploma or GEDMinimum 2 years purchasing experience in aviation or aerospace or previous experience working in purchasing preferably within a manufacturing environmentGood knowledge of purchasing, negotiation, commercial understanding, and cost breakdownExperienced with working closely with suppliersAble to add value, reduce costs, and provide input to business improvementsComputer literate, Excel Skills (Basic: VLOOKUPS & Pivot Tables) Preferred Characteristics: 
 An understanding of aerospace processes and components would be advantageousAnalytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilitiesAble to manage time effectively, prioritizes tasks, and achieve set targetsAble to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situationsFamiliarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system would be beneficialOracle or SAP experience  Benefits that make life better:
