The Opportunity

As a Safety Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring the highest standards of safety on World-Class construction projects. You will implement Emergency Response plans; conduct job site safety orientations, project safety meetings and ensure compliance with contractual documents and regulatory requirements.

Location

You can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to our client projects on a long-term basis.



Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities

    Conduct Safety Orientation: Deliver site-specific safety orientations to all trades and subcontractors, making sure everyone understands and follows safety protocols.
  • Support Project Teams: Work closely with project and department management to ensure compliance with all safety, accident, and fire prevention programs, procedures, and policies.
  • Investigate Incidents: Thoroughly investigate any incidents, accidents, or near misses on the project. You'll prepare detailed written reports of your findings and recommend improvements.
  • Documentation and Inspections: Review all safety documentation for accuracy and completeness, perform regular jobsite inspections, and ensure all reporting. Act as the company's representative during OSHA compliance inspections, ensuring all standards are met.
  • Promote Safety Culture: Organize and implement site safety recognition programs to encourage safe behaviors and celebrate achievements.
  • Administer Drug-Free Workplace Program: Support the site's Drug Free Workplace Program, including conducting post-accident alcohol and drug testing.
  • Collaborate with Subcontractors: Work with subcontractors to reduce injuries and increase productivity by applying established safety methods and addressing safety issues directly with the owner.
  • Analyze Hazards: Conduct and review Pre-Task Analysis and Activity Hazard Analysis Plans for all construction activities, ensuring proactive risk management.


Qualifications

To Qualify, you must have

  • A bachelor's degree (Occupational Health & Safety preferred) or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum 2 years of construction safety field experience.
  • Knowledge on how to develop, implement, and audit Pre Task Analysis for the Contractors and Subcontractors.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and preferred OSHA 10- and 30-hour certification.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong Computer Skills- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A valid driver's license in the US and a valid passport required; willingness and ability to travel; travel is estimated at 70+%.
