We are seeking a Check Point Engineer for a 6-month remote contract to support a large enterprise undergoing rapid growth and transformation. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in firewall administration and has a strong background in policy management and cleanup. You'll play a key role in optimizing firewall rule sets, streamlining security policies, and helping the team shift from reactive support to proactive project work. Responsibilities * Administer and manage Check Point firewalls in a dynamic enterprise environment. * Review incoming requests (e.g., new servers, platforms) and determine necessary firewall rule changes. * Open and manage change records, coordinate team reviews, and implement/test changes. * Perform policy cleanup to eliminate outdated, redundant, or overly permissive rules. * Help reduce the backlog of firewall requests to free up the team for strategic initiatives. Qualifications * Strong experience with * Check Point firewall administration. * Proven track record in policy management and cleanup. * Ability to work independently in a remote setting. * Bonus: Experience in healthcare environments (not required). Position Details * Location: 100% Remote -> preferring candidates near Marshfield, WI or Sioux Falls, SD for occasional onsite visits. * Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm CST * Duration: 6 months -> strong potential to extend up to 2 years * Interview: One-step video interview with hiring manager Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Sioux Falls, SD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
