We're seeking a future team member for the role of Associate - Trading to join our Buy-Side Trading Solutions Team. This role is located in Boston, MA. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support the trading desk with client order execution from client portfolio managers.
- Execute smaller or less complex trades and determine appropriate prices for transactions for investment managers.
- Under guidance, provide initial recommendations on the pricing of securities.
- Assist in Pre- and Post-Trade Cost Analysis to optimise execution behaviour using a variety of analytics platforms.
- Liaise with Middle Office support teams on post-trade allocation, clearing and settlement issues.
- Provide regular updates to Portfolio Managers, Analysts and other members of the Trading Desk, on company- and sector-specific news (e.g., corporate actions, corporate activity, customer cash flows), as well as macro developments.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline, with up to two years of internship or professional experience in Equities trading, investment banking, or a sell-side environment.
- Solid understanding of global Equities markets, trading strategies, and market microstructure dynamics.
- Working knowledge of OMS and EMS platforms, Equities trading venues and trading protocols.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with basic scripting skills (Python, VBA, or similar).
- Strong quantitative aptitude, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to perform accurately under tight deadlines in a high-volume trading environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a rigorous commitment to risk management and regulatory compliance.
- FINRA Series 7, 3 and 63 Licenses preferred, but not required.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $57,500 and $113,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
