Summary:

Goldbelt C6, Inc. is seeking a responsible and professional Senior Project Manager to provide project management expertise to the NWSS Pathogen Genomics Unit. The Project Manager will ensure structured planning, execution, and monitoring of activities, while embedding Agile practices and producing documentation that promotes standardization and productivity.

The National Wastewater Surveillance System (NWSS) Pathogen Genomics Unit supports public health efforts by monitoring wastewater for genomic evidence of pathogens. This unit provides critical data for early detection, situational awareness, and response to infectious disease threats. To enhance operational efficiency and ensure timely delivery of outputs, a dedicated Project Manager is required to support Agile project management, establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), and streamline workflows.


Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Project Management
    • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and milestones.
    • Facilitate project tracking and reporting.
    • Support resource allocation and identify bottlenecks.
    • Produce progress reports for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Agile Implementation
    • Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and regular stand-ups.
    • Coach team members on Agile principles and practices.
    • Support backlog management in collaboration with technical leads.
    • Adapt Agile practices to fit the specific needs of a scientific/public health context.
  • SOP Development
    • Draft, review, and finalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for project workflows, communication protocols, and deliverables.
    • Coordinate input from technical and scientific staff.
    • Ensure SOPs align with CDC/HHS guidelines and best practices.
    • Maintain version control and a centralized repository of documents.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Coordinate across internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
    • Prepare presentations and summaries for leadership.
    • Support workshops, trainings, and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Deliverables
    • Project plans and Gantt charts.
    • Agile sprint boards and backlog reports.
    • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for key NWSS Pathogen Genomics Unit functions.
    • Biweekly status reports and quarterly summary reports.
    • Final project closeout report summarizing activities, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in Agile project management.
  • Strong background in SOP development.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive project management experience
  • Experience implementing project governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with technical programs preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of effectively interacting with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 to $140,000.
