Our firm is partnering with a growing manufacturing company in the Middletown, NY area to identify a skilled Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager to join their team. This is a high-visibility, onsite role leading the accounting function and strengthening the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial reporting. We are seeking a hands-on, process-driven finance leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is motivated to build best-in-class accounting operations.

Position Overview

The Financial Reporting & Accounting Manager will oversee the daily accounting activities, manage and mentor the accounting team, and ensure timely and accurate month-end close and financial statement preparation. This individual will play a key role in improving internal controls, enhancing reporting capabilities, and partnering with cross-functional leaders across Finance, Operations, and senior management. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, manufacturing experience, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Accounting Operations


  • Supervise, develop, and support the accounting team.
  • Oversee general ledger management, AP/AR, payroll-related accounting, and other daily accounting functions.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.


Financial Reporting & Compliance


  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and support audit activities.


Process Optimization & Systems


  • Streamline and standardize accounting processes, improving accuracy and efficiency.
  • Enhance documentation, SOPs, and internal accounting workflows.
  • Utilize ERP and reporting tools to strengthen data visibility and financial insights.


Cross-Functional Partnership


  • Collaborate with Operations, FP&A, and senior leadership to support strategic initiatives and operational decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights, variance analysis, and recommendations to drive improved performance.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on role.
