Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Incumbent is responsible for assisting with the direction of the Medical Center's financial planning program, the operations and capital budget process and decision support services. Provides vital financial analysis, planning, evaluation and performance monitoring services that support the organization's short and long term tactical and strategic planning efforts. Develops complex budgets, forecasting scenarios, long range planning and analysis for financial reporting and presentations for executive management.


What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:
  • Universal knowledge of general and fund accounting
  • Three or more year's management experience in finance in a healthcare or relevant setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of process improvement principles and change management methods
  • Strong technical knowledge and skills in financial analysis, cost accounting, management accounting, reimbursement methodologies, and healthcare economics
  • Significant experience with financial planning and decision support systems (Strata, Epsi or Axiom)
  • Significant experience with decision support systems (Eclipsys Epsi, MedAssets, or McKessen)
  • Significant experience with and understanding of health care information technology, including clinical information systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Effective report writing and presentation skills
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work for self and others
  • Ability to develop financial and operational systems to accurately monitor and control organizational activities
  • Ability to accurately analyze complex financial and accounting data and effectively communicate it to a wide variety of executives, faculty, and other constituents in lay terms

  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in business administration, health administration, CPA, or other relevant degree program
  • Leadership or relevant management consulting experience in an academic medical center or complex teaching environment.
