The Wildfire IT Team consists of a staff of highly skilled professionals working together to produce geospatial, mobile, data, sensing, and web solutions that are internally and externally facing. Position Summary

The Business System Specialist, Expert will provide advanced consulting and analysis to support PG&E's Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) and related emergency response solutions by analyzing and documenting complex business requirements, implementing missioncritical applications, and ensuring operational and regulatory needs are met. Acting as a key contributor, the role influences portfolio strategy, solution design, and product delivery while collaborating across functional teams to ensure readiness and alignment. The incumbent participates in user acceptance testing, quality reviews, project estimates, and business case development. This role also supports the wildfire emergency response Agile Release Train (ART) to ensure technology solutions are effectively integrated into business operations.

PG&E is providing the salary range that can reasonably be expected for this position at the time of the job posting. This salary range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, internal equity, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, and geographic location. The decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.

Pay range: $118,000.00 - $168,300.00

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and our Oakland Headquarters based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory

Job Responsibilities

  • Expert knowledge of the business requirements process, including elicitation, documentation, validation, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Understand current and future business environment; anticipate and meet business needs.
  • Analyze and document complex business requirements; coordinate with stakeholdes to implement solutions.
  • Provide expert consultation in business and user needs; influence solutions to complex problems.
  • Act as key contributor to teams defining and approving requirements.
  • Anticipate concerns and provide proactive, timely communications.
  • Participate in UATs, quality reviews, project estimates, and business case development.
  • May assist with training, change management, and communications.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced employees.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a jobrelated discipline, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of jobrelated experience in business systems analysis, IT, or utility operations
  • Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager or in a leadership role on complex, highimpact projects
  • Extensive participation in projects of high complexity, with proven ability to influence solutions and outcomes


Desired:

  • Graduate degree in Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Handson experience with GIS tools for utility or operational support
  • Proficiency with Palantir platforms for data integration and analytics
  • 8+ years of business or jobrelated experience
  • 6+ years of IT or technology management experience
  • Strong understanding of utility business processes and regulatory environment, with transferable expertise in emergency response, outage management, wildfire mitigation, or customer communications programs (such as PSPS or equivalent initiatives)
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functional areas and disciplines to deliver business systems solutions
  • Advanced analytical, communication, and mentoring skills to support crossfunctional teams and guide less experienced employees
