Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work onsite with our client in Oldsmar, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The client is seeking a detail-oriented Solder Assembler with a strong understanding of IPC (Institute of Printed Circuits) standards to join our Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for performing manual and semi-automatic touch-up of components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) that have been processed by high-speed Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) lines.
  • Perform manual and selective soldering of through-hole, Surface-Mount Technology (SMT), Ball Grid Array (BGA), Quad Flat No-lead (QFN), Chip Scale Package (CSP), and other component types.
  • Conduct visual inspections and use inspection tools, microscopes, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) to identify solder defects such as bridges, cold joints, tombstoning, insufficient wetting, and voids.
  • Apply IPC A 610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), IPC J STD 001 (Soldering Materials), and IPC 2221/2222 (Design standards) throughout the assembly process.
  • Verify that solder paste, flux, and materials meet the needed specifications.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to soldering processes, tooling, and work instructions to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 / hour.

Hours: 4/10 hrs/Week. (1st shift).

Length: Temp (13 months).

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hands-on solder assembly in a production environment.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with mixed technology boards (both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and through-hole).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in soldering and visual Inspection.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Technical/vocational training in Electronics assembly.
  • Proficient with Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) standards A 610, J STD 001.
  • Ability to solder and inspect a range of component sizes (0201 - 1206, Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs), Quad Flat No-lead packages (QFNs).
  • Familiarity with soldering tools (soldering iron, hot air gun, reflow oven, wave solder machine).
  • Good visual inspection skills
  • Ability to use microscopes and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment to detect defects.
  • Detail-oriented, good problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork orientation.
  • Knowledge of lead-free and RoHS-compliant processes.
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and yield analysis.
  • Minimum 1 year of IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD experience.

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
