HR Generalist (Compliance Focus) - Remote | $56-57/hr.

Location: Remote (US-based; any time zone)

Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay: $56-57/hour, temporary assignment (maternity leave coverage, may be extended)

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong compliance background to join our team temporarily. This role is ideal for a self-motivated professional who can work independently, provide excellent customer service, and has experience with Workday, I-9, and US work authorizations. This position will primarily support US operations with potential exposure to international HR processes.

Key Responsibilities



  • Manage I-9 and work authorization processes for US employees, ensuring compliance with USCIS regulations
  • Serve as a point of contact for HR compliance-related inquiries from employees, management, and auditors
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to HR management with findings and recommendations for corrective action
  • Maintain accurate, organized records for audits, training, and HR compliance activities
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Legal, and third-party administrators
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to streamline operations
  • Act as the process owner for escalated matters related to US work authorization
  • Other compliance-related responsibilities as assigned



Minimum Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant HR experience
  • Strong understanding of US employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in Workday
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels



Preferred Skills & Competencies



  • Exposure to global/international HR processes
  • 2+ years' experience with USCIS, work authorization, and FCRA laws
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret trends and data
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality of work
  • Initiative, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to "find a way" to get the job done
  • High degree of confidentiality and data protection awareness
