TITLE: SUPERINTENDENT, III Data Center Retrofit


LOCATION: Middletown, VA

POSITION SUMMMARY:

The Superintendent III, Data Center Retrofit is responsible for overseeing the installation, upgrade, and commissioning of electrical power distribution and mechanical systems during retrofit projects. This role ensures all work meets safety, quality, and compliance standards while coordinating across multiple trades to deliver projects on time and within budget.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Leadership: Supervise on-site activities for electrical and mechanical retrofit work; coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Electrical Power Distribution: Manage installation and testing of switchgear, UPS systems, PDUs, busways, and low-voltage wiring; ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and data center standards.
  • Mechanical Systems: Oversee installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and piping; monitor integration with electrical infrastructure.
  • Safety & Quality: Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular site audits; verify workmanship meets specifications.
  • Scheduling & Coordination: Develop and maintain detailed look-ahead schedules.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of progress, inspections, and change orders; provide regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Customer Service: Interact effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Work Rules and Standards: Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rules, safety procedures, and industry standards.
  • Codes: Be familiar with all applicable Federal, State, local rules, codes, and regulations.
  • Other assigned tasks as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Skills: Strong knowledge of power distribution and HVAC systems; proficiency in project scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, and familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
  • Experience writing reports and procedures
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding Customer relations skills
  • Must be a US Citizen



Education/Experience (Desired):

  • Degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Construction Management preferred.
  • 5+ years in electrical and mechanical construction, with supervisory experience; data center retrofit experience strongly preferred.


Computer Skills:


  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office.


Certificates and Licenses:


  • Electrical, Mechanical and/or Construction Management recommended.
  • OSHA certification preferred.


Supervisory Responsibilities:


  • No direct reports, but oversight of subcontractors/trades.

Pay Range: $83,492 - $125,292 per year
