Department Summary UCLA Recreation is a large department within the Division of Campus Life in Student Affairs with approximately 90 full-time career and contract and over 1,000 part-time employees. UCLA Recreation provides extensive access to a broad range of recreational activities and wellbeing services, and offers programming which encompasses the competitive, passive, social, cultural, and instructional aspects of recreational activity. In addition, the department manages 15 of the University's recreational and athletic facilities offering recreation, competition, and numerous multi-use options for student and university events. Position Summary Under the supervision of the Associate Director, Recreational Sports, coordinate athletic injury prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of UCLA student-athletes. Organize injury prevention programs. Share responsibility for Athletic Training services for various teams as assigned by the Associate Director. Training services to include: coordination of physical exams for team, evaluation and treatment of injuries, design and supervision of rehabilitation programs, and supervise and direct student Athletic Trainers assigned to practice and game taping. Communicate and document athletes' progress to athletic training staff, physicians, conditioning staff and coaches. Maintain written and computerized documentation on all athletes' injuries, treatments and rehabilitation. Refer injured athletes to UCLA team physicians as appropriate. Organize informative bimonthly in-service seminars. Perform other duties as assigned by the ADRS. The employee will independently prioritize and complete ongoing tasks following established departmental guidelines and University policies. Periodic in-progress checks of work are made. Performance is formally reviewed annually. Salary & Compensation *UCLA provides a full pay range.
