We're looking for ambitious leaders to become part of our growing MCC Verstraete IML team at our location on Founders Boulevard in Batavia, Ohio! This brand new, state of the art facility specializes in offset printing labels on polypropylene for injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming.

The Sustainability Technician is responsible for managing all waste streams to minimize waste and increase recycling.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all waste streams to minimize waste, increase recycling and maintain organized and clean areas
• Sort all waste to maximize recycling
• Load recycle products on trailers.
• Operate baler, compactor, forklift
• Perform preventive maintenance on baler and potentially other equipment, as time allows
• Understands Risk and Safety and Hazard and precaution Statements

Qualifications:

• Work SAFELY- Comply with all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Be DEPENDABLE- regular and predictable attendance and work overtime when required
• Be a TEAM PLAYER- ability to assist others with machine set-up, run, and clean up
• Be CARING- respect others and communicate openly
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required
• Ability to work in the US without company sponsorship required
• Strong proficiency in the use of computer systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities

PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to:
• Specific vision abilities include - close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish color variations, and ability to adjust focus
• Wear hearing, foot, eye and/or other personal protective equipment while in a manufacturing setting
• Continually stand for prolonged periods; frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, climb and balance; moderate to frequent walking
• Routinely use hands and fingers to handle, feel, grasp, and manipulate items; use hands and arms to reach for items in and around the press area; occasionally stoop or kneel while reaching
• Frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds
• Regularly push or pull objects up to 40 pounds
• Medium to loud noise environment
• Work flexible/varying schedules and overtime hours as needed
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency for on-time completion of assigned activities
• Must work according to the requirements for ISO9001, ISO14001, BRC Packaging and FDA.
