We are in search of a Senior Clinical Planner to join our growing practice and word-class health expertise. For nearly 60 years, HDR has delivered award-winning integrated healthcare planning and design for some of the world's foremost medical centers and health systems. Using evidence-based design methodologies, we fully integrate clinical, operational, and facility planning that supports an organization's strategic objectives by design. Our global healthcare practice provides our clients and communities with creative design solutions that improve the health and human condition of those they serve. The Senior Clinical Planner in HDR's Planning group, will be responsible for leading all aspects of healthcare planning efforts with our clients. This role is responsible for leading client engagements in: strategic transformation, clinical planning, lean operational planning, space and functional programming, change management, and activation planning. Primary responsibilities:
Participate as project team member by:
Supporting project leadership in all aspects of project planning, coordinating and delivery Applying industry trends and innovations to strategic and master planning and programming efforts Meeting planning, including developing research briefs, data analytics, meeting materials, best practice information, industry standards and benchmark information Developing functional and space programs that reflect lean operational planning Facilitating user sessions by anticipating client needs, coordinating meetings with key individuals, and documenting outcomes and key areas that need further investigation Ensure the Planning team is up to date on trends and innovations for Healthcare, ES&T and Civic market sectors In collaboration with regional offices and Business Development principals and leaders, lead and coordinate pursuits, focusing on targeted premier clients. Partner in the development of strategic client relationships
Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks with time sensitive deadlines Proven leadership skills and ability to coordinate and manage other clinical planners work efforts on projects Production of scholarly work and thought leadership, though journal articles, conference presentations, and whitepapers
Additional responsibilities:
Provide leadership for continuous improvement efforts within Health Planning. Co-create new planning and operational services and coach others in the development of services. Liaison between clinical and administrative clients and design team. Pursue greater opportunities for planning teams to provide services in Health, ES&T and Civic market sectors. Provide education about consulting services and specific tools and techniques to other segments of HDR and to clients. Through written and verbal communication, inform internal and external audiences on a variety of topics. Engage in the full life cycle of client relationships: relationship development, pursuit strategy, marketing, proposal writing, client interviews, project planning, project leadership, project execution, post-project thought leadership, etc.
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing, Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or Architecture 10+ years' experience in healthcare management, nursing, allied health, or related experience Excellent leadership skills, problem-resolution abilities, proven group facilitation, along with strong written and professional communication skills Experience with planning, strategy, process improvement, design and construction of healthcare projects Background in the entire life cycle of a client engagement process - networking, prospecting, opportunity identification, proposal development, project execution, and spreading the message and lessons learned upon project completion Computer skills in InDesign and simulation software Proven history managing interdisciplinary teams to create powerful, effective, and coherent design solutions Able to maintain multiple simultaneous projects, working alone or in a team setting Ability to interact professionally with healthcare clients and design team members Ability to travel up to 60% and obtain passport
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- A minimum of 5 years related experience
- Efficient use of the internet and other electronic and hard copy media for research
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Project and Visio skills
- Expert Microsoft Access and Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to compile and present summary level information
- Ability to obtain, cleanse, merge and analyze data from multiple sources
- Excellent interpersonal skills and strong relationship, organizational and follow-up skills
- Self-starter with proven track record of accomplishments
