The Clinical Dietitian I works with the health care team and provides medical nutrition therapy both in the inpatient and outpatient settings; assesses patients' nutrition risk, nutritional needs, and recommends appropriate nutrition intervention; provides nutrition education to patients and their families and documents patient's progress in the medical record; works with Nutrition Services department to ensure patients are receiving appropriate foods for the diet order; and precepts and coordinates learning experiences for dietetic interns.
