Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Security Technician II to support security system integration projects within education and corporate environments. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and related upgrades. The position involves hands-on fieldwork, adherence to safety and technical standards, and collaboration with project teams to deliver reliable security solutions. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with potential for long-term growth and continued technical training. Job Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot commercial security systems, including access control, CCTV, and burglar alarm components.

Install and service access control hardware such as control panels, card readers, strikes, and magnetic locks.

Install, configure, and troubleshoot IP and analog cameras, network video recorders, and related equipment.

Perform basic configuration of CCTV client software on PCs and mobile devices, including camera management, recording schedules, and video retrieval.

Perform basic configuration of access control systems, including credential management, door schedules, and access levels.

Apply basic IP networking principles, including switch and router connectivity and port configuration.

Install, route, dress, label, and terminate low-voltage cabling, including 22/4, 20/4, Cat5e, and Cat6.

Build and organize security equipment racks and install cable pathways using J-hooks and D-rings.

Read and follow blueprints and installation documentation accurately.

Maintain professional written and verbal communication with colleagues and management.

Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of PPE and maintaining a clean job site.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Minimum of 1 year of experience installing commercial security systems.

Experience with access control, CCTV, and low-voltage installations.

Familiarity with security platforms such as Genetec, Avigilon, Verkada, and Lenel.

Basic experience with IP addressing and troubleshooting.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Security manufacturer or product certifications preferred.

OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Scissor lift or boom lift certification preferred.

Ability to work on ladders and lifts, in confined spaces, and remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.

Ownership and use of basic hand tools, including screwdrivers, tape measure, snips, pliers, punch-down tool, flashlight, gloves, tool pouch, and protective work boots.
