The Epilepsy Center at Boston Children's Hospital provides testing, evaluation, treatment, and counseling for children of all ages and abilities who have epilepsy and seizures. We deliver skilled, compassionate care through the full range of medical, dietary, noninvasive, and surgical treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting clinicians during examinations (i.e. obtaining, measuring and recording routine information such as temperature and blood pressure, and performing other related duties according to specific needs of clinic).
  • Assisting EEG technologists in Epilepsy department with removal of EEG electrodes.
  • Performing documentation of skin integrity during long term monitoring of EEG at the patient bedside.
  • Collecting, verifying and recording required information according to established procedures and instructions.
  • Identifying and reporting unusual findings or changes in patient condition to Registered Nurse.
  • Collecting and organizing medical records, information, materials and supplies required for admissions or encounters. Preparing requisitions and other standard forms as requested by clinician or supervisor.
  • Verifying, recording and processing patient demographics, insurance/payment and referral information for patient encounters. Collecting all necessary clinical documentation and information.
  • Answering, screening and routing telephone calls. Recording and forwarding messages and triaging calls for urgent information or services. Responding to requests for routine information or assistance within scope of knowledge and authority. Initiating call for emergency services as required.
  • Position is 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday.

Minimum qualifications:
Education:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
  • 1 year Clinical Assistant experience preferred.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.

The posted pay range is Boston Children's reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
